| Recently, I brought to light my new poetry book, Enlightenment of Derangement, which reunites twenty-seven poems written along seven years. It can be said that it's filled with images and metaphors about dreams, the night, beauty, eternity, love, God. It's a work of illuminations and insanities written by someone who has experienced madness, but has also seen the happiness and joy of existence. Here I copy a poem from the book, which is available on Amazon:
I USED TO BE A FISH
The silence of the sleeping bird,
the arch of the entrance, the damp
the arch of the entrance, the damp
─these things perhaps are the poem.
BORGES
I used to be a fish
that swam in the air,
I couldn’t breathe,
I couldn’t kiss,
I couldn’t swallow vomits of truth.
Now I’ve found my sea
breathing,
melting with my sweat and screaming.
I used to be a waterless fish,
I cradled the air,
I had nothing left.
I’m grown water now,
I can feel my gills,
they keep on moaning truth
like pure gold sand
and today has rained
millions of sea stars,
they keep on groaning
something like dust,
millions of stars
that shine like a true poem.

| It's been a fascinating journey to write it and publish it, like when one sows a moon in the face of a rose to harvest a timeless eclipse. This is my fifth book, and I treasure it in a special way because it not only talks about poetry, but my literary self: my life is a poem, and there's nothing left to say.
